It’s official: Van Halen has signed with Interscope Records.

The Hollywood Reporter first broke the news last week that the band would leave its longtime label home, Warner Music, after 35 year in favor of Universal’s Interscope.

Sources: Handshake labor deal reached

Baseball’s labor negotiators have reached a “handshake agreement” on all major issues, and the sport’s new five-year collective bargaining agreement is likely to be announced Tuesday, sources told ESPN.com Friday.

The sources were hesitant to use words such as “done” or “over” to describe the negotiations, because the two sides are still in the process of putting the agreement into writing. However, one source went so far as to say there are “no issues that remain to be negotiated.”

Implications of Android App Downloads Surpassing iOS For The Music Biz?

It has been reported earlier today that the Google Android platform accounted for 44 percent of all App downloads in the second quarter of this year, surpassing Apple’s iOS with a 31 percent share. In Australia shipments of Android phones witnessed a 36 percent jump from the previous quarter. So what is the relevance to the music industry you ask?

Home prices heading for triple-dip

NEW YORK (Source CNNMoney) — The besieged housing market has even further to fall before home prices really hit rock bottom.

According to Fiserv (FISV), a financial analytics company, home values are expected to fall another 3.6% by next June, pushing them to a new low of 35% below the peak reached in early 2006 and marking a triple dip in prices.
